Tuesday, December 310:30 AM—12:00 PMActivity RoomTopsfield Town Library1 South Common St., Topsfield, MA, 01983
Join us on Tuesday, December 3rd, at 10:30am, when Topsfield resident, David Read, will be presenting his research on the Halifax Explosion that occurred in the midst of World War One.
On a cold December morning in 1917 two ships collided in Hallifax Harbour, setting off the largest man-made explosion in history prior to the advent of the atomic bomb. Dave will discuss the events leading up to the explosion and why this tragedy is not well known by many. A major focus of the talk will be the impressive medical response that our state of Massachusetts rendered to the people of Halifax - resulting in a special gift that the people of Nova Scotia send us each year.
No registration required! This will be an in-person talk in the Topsfield Library Activity Room.
